“ANY SUFFICIENTLY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
is indistinguishable from magic.”
– Arthur C. Clark
In the Beginning
When I formed Creative Digital Images, Inc., the focus was on 3D computer animation.
Over the years, I found my clients requested more and more ways to present their content to both grab and hold viewer’s attention. From engaging ways for training to standing out at an event where monitor blindness was an epidemic. So I changed the name of my studio to Nash Immersive, Inc. and continued to find ways to communicate and standout.
Holographic Advertising Machines
To be clear, these are not actually “Holograms”, but people mistake them for holograms all the time and term just stuck.
The displays create the holographic illusion using Persistence of Vision. The displays have 2 or 4 blades each with hundreds of micro-LEDs. As the blades spin like a fan, they flash on and off with varying colors and intensity creating circular lines. Think of old TVs, they created moving pictures by drawing flashing horizontal lines. The human eye/brain is only capable of processing 10-12 separate images a second and retaining an image for up to a fifteenth of a second creating the illusion of a “solid” image and seamless motion.
Once upon a time, I had a client that really wanted 3D at their tradeshow booth. Problem was, they did not want to deal with either handing out and then collecting 3D glasses or the expense and image quality of paper red/blue anaglyph 3d glasses. After some digging, I found a French company that offered something revolutionary, autostereoscopic displays. My studio became one of only 6 approved content creators and a US reseller for Alioscopy.

Projection Mapping
Isn’t just for buildings anymore.

Virtual Tours
I created both aerial and interior virtual tours during the recent unpleasantness, mostly for real estate.
I am still creating virtual tours at Los Alamos Laboratory; click the image below to open a recent project I created for the lab.
AR
One of the coolest projects I ever worked on was KONcepting and creating all the AR for the Rovio Angry Birds Space Encounter “Danger Zone” mirror maze for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Rovio’s 1st interactive exhibit in the US.
While I have created over 100 AR apps for Android and iOS,
unfortunately, the software publisher I worked with was purchased by Apple, and all of the apps I created with it went dark.
Below are a few screen capture stills.

Pepper’s Ghost
A high-tech, interactive version.
But 1st a little history, because you should learn something new everyday.
Below, is a prototype I built for a client.
To make them standout even more at their event, I added touchless interactivity with the content.
“What is real? How do you define real?
If you’re talking about what you can hear, what you can smell, taste and feel then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.”
