During these dark times, I was approached by New Riders Publishing to coauthor a book on 3D Studio.

I wrote 2 chapters, one on combining a CG character with a real character and have them interact.  I ended up finding an actor who was available and worked cheap… Kirk O. Nash.  This was in the pre-After FX days using tools that most animators would have.

The 2nd chapter was on creating a particle effect where the particle trail from a comet formed 3D text.
